A KS2 assembly covering what is resilience and 10 tips to become more resilient. it starts as a mystery assembly asking what these five characters have in common luke skywalker, cinderella, harry potter, matilda and katniss everdeen. this is the starter for discussing resilience.

An assembly looking at respect and treating each other how you would like to be treated. two brothers have joined yr 6 one is respectful and polite the other is rude and hates doing as he is asked. They explore the school and come into reception play area, the nice brother does as he is asked while the other causes distraction. the reception pupils help the nice brother when he needs it while they get even with the nasty brother.

An assembly that looks at year 6 leading the school and the qualities required. then looking at some famous leaders and the qualities they have, Winston Churchill, Tony Stark, The Queen, Yoda and your own head (who is put in because they told you too). it ends with questioning the year groups what can they do to lead the school. for your own school you can make it more specific if you have prefects, mentors or school council etc. Enjoy

A welcome back assembly for the new year. looking at the history of the new year with the Julian calendar starting the year at 1st Jan, then how the idea of the new year being 1st Jan changed in the middle ages. to the reintroduction with the new calendar led by the pope. Then looking at how people celebrate, along with where the first celebrations are and then where the last are and the distance between them (less than 140 miles).

A year 6 leavers assembly. It starts with a generic poem about the year and the future ahead. this can be read as individual lines or as a group it then leads into a song to the track of three lions. you will need to add teachers names and some pupils names to complete the song. Hope it helps.

Some ideas on what you could do on the day (younger children might want a teddy bear picnic added). It then goes onto quotes from the books. There are four clues to different famous people both real and fictional. the famous names are Bill Gates, Harry Potter, Winston Churchill, Captain Britain, Mr Tickle, Katy Perry, Harry Kane, Harry Styles, Benedict Cumberbatch and an extra slide if you wish to put your head teacher in it. it could be used as a competitive assembly if you have 'houses' or as a class activity.
